Your Darjeeling tour starts today. Meet our WWS representative who will be there to assist you while you take a transfer to Darjeeling from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (70.3 km) / Bagdogra Airport (65.3 km) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (61.9 km). A serene hill station set at an elevation of 2050 meter, Darjeeling opens arms to tourists from all over the world to explore its untouched beauty. The weather of the hill town is so alluring that nothing in the world can make you leave it. On reaching Darjeeling, check-in to the hotel. In the evening, go out for a stroll around the Mall or local shopping center of Darjeeling. Have a comfortable overnight stay at Darjeeling. Visit one of the most popular attractions of Darjeeling, Peace Pagoda. Peace Pagoda was purposely built in order to bring peace and prosperity in the world. It displays four different avatars of Buddha and is open to people of all races and creeds. Don’t miss taking a cable car ride which offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Walk through the beautiful tea estates and pick up the best tea in the world for yourself.
This morning, wake up early and then leave for Tiger Hill. Get ready to experience a sunrise like never before. Tiger Hill is considered the best place to enjoy a sunrise in Darjeeling. This is because the hill is located at an elevation of 7,407 meter feet above sea level and it offers great view of the Himalayan range during sunrise. Let the shining rays of the sun and soothing ambience of the hill make you forget all concerns of the world. While going back to Darjeeling, visit major tourist attractions like Ghoom Monastery, War memorial and Batasia Loop. Batasia Loop is the place through which the toy train passes in a loop like pattern. It is a great location to enjoy a 360 degree view of Darjeeling’s picture perfect landscape. At the center of the Batasia Loop Garden, there is War Memorial, which was built to honor the Gorkha soldiers who lost their lives in different operations and wars after India’s independence. Built back in the year 1875, Ghoom Monastery holds immense importance as it is dedicated to Maitreya Buddha, who is believed to be ‘The Buddha to Come’. The monastery preserves some rare, handwritten Buddhist manuscripts. Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and then leave for your next round of sightseeing. Pelling Sightseeing After breakfast start for Pelling sightseeing covering Rimbi Falls, Rock Garden, Sacred Khecheopalri Lake, Kanchendzonga Falls, Famrong water falls, and along with excursion tripe to Yuksum valley (the first capital of Sikkim). Overnight at hotel.
In the morning after breakfast, transfer to Gangtok. We expect you to reach Gangtok by 12:00 in the noon so that we can continue with our hald day sightseeing in Gangtok. Lunch by 1:00 PM (Self basis). So that we can cover remaining parts. As per your itinerary, today you will be visiting Tashi view point, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, Flower show, Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre, Institute of Tibetology, Dro-dul Chorten, Enchey Monastery & Banjakhri Falls (maximum 6 hours). Dinner and overnight stay at Gangtok hotel.
After a tasty breakfast, you will leave to visit the famous Tsomgo Lake aka Changu Lake. It has an elevation of about 3,780 m, offers breathtaking scenic beauty, is home to Brahminy Ducks and many other migratory bird,s and is popular for its colour changing phenomenon. Following this, you will visit the shrine of the famous Baba Mandir where it is believed that his spirit protects every soldier in the inhospitable high-altitude terrain of the Eastern Himalayas. Later, you can also visit Nathula Pass* (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays) which is one of the most crucial passes on the crossroads of the India-China border (at an additional cost). Later, return back to Gangtok for an overnight stay.
Enjoy the scenic journey after breakfast. Head on a city tour covering Science Center, Army Golf Course, and Pine View Nursery. Catch austere sights of nature from Deolo viewpoint and Durpin Dara viewpoint Visit the Zang Dhok Palri Phodang Monastery,consecrated by the Dalai Lama. Journey continues to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station for Train Departure. Overnight in Train Note - Dinner at self basis today
Savor a delectable morning meal (at own cost) and now, you will be moving to Cherrapunji – the lace that ranks second to Mawsynram when it comes to the world’s wettest place. Drink in the scenery of undulating hills, waterfalls, and aromatic vegetation. Shillong, Cherrapunji sightseeing further takes you to Nohkalikai or Seven Sisters Falls - a seven segmented waterfall which falls from a height of more than 1000 feet. From here visit caves such as Mawsmai Cave and Arwah Cave. If time permits then visit Nongriat village to experience the double decket ROOT BRIDGE otherwise it can be done next day early morning. Proceed to your hotel for check-in and sleep restfully. Meals - Dinner
After all this hectic schedule of sightseeing and travel, we have chosen this day for your leisure and shopping. Upon arrival in Shillong from Cherapunjee, check inn to hotel and take some rest. A beautiful river with crystal clear waters, Dawki is one of the most picture-perfect spots you'll find in Meghalaya. Travellers love spending a day outing here, especially boating in the pretty surroundings. Dawki is a small town in the Jaintia Hills and is a border town between India and Bangladesh. The small town, besides being a trade hub is also famous for its tourism, with many people flocking to the town in order to experience a boat ride in its famed Umngot River and enjoy the nearby sights and sounds. People also come here directly from Shillong for a day trip. The city becomes a hotbed of tourist activities especially during the spring months as it hosts the boat riding competition on the Umngot River. The surrounding greenery, the cold water of the river and the beautiful suspension bridge on the River Umngot make Dawki a place worth a visit. Dawki is also a major centre of trade between India and Bangladesh as it's an important border town. If time permits, then dont forget to explore Jingmaham Living Root bridge near the Bangladesh Border. Back to Shillong hotel after expedition and take rest for the day. Meals- Breakfast & Dinner
